We Are Here To Help With Your queries !
The process is straightforward, and we guide you at every stage. It begins with a referral from your doctor or specialist. Once we receive it, our care coordinator will contact you to schedule a consultation. In this first meeting, we will walk you through everything, answer your questions, and create your personalised care plan.
Yes. In South Africa, chronic kidney dialysis is a Prescribed Minimum Benefit (PMB). This means that by law, all medical aid schemes must cover the cost of your treatment. We understand that navigating the authorisation process can be stressful, and our administrative team is here to provide guidance and assist you with the necessary paperwork.
A session usually lasts around four hours and takes place three times a week. When you arrive, you will be comfortably seated in a specialised chair. Our nursing team will connect you to the dialysis machine, which will then quietly do its work of cleaning your blood. Most people use this time to read, watch movies on a tablet (we have Wi-Fi), listen to music, or simply rest. Our team will be monitoring you closely the entire time.
Absolutely. Our primary goal is to help you get back to living your life as fully as possible. Dialysis is a commitment, but it is not your entire life. We work with you to find a consistent treatment schedule that causes the least disruption to your work, studies, and family routine.
Your comfort is important to us. We recommend bringing:
Comfortable, layered clothing and warm socks, as it can feel cool during treatment.
A book, tablet, headphones, or any quiet activity to pass the time.
A light blanket or pillow for extra comfort.
Any medications you are scheduled to take during that time.
Your safety is paramount. If you experience an urgent medical emergency—such as severe shortness of breath, chest pain, or uncontrolled bleeding—please go directly to the emergency room at your nearest hospital. Do not wait for our clinic to open.
Family support is vital, and we view your loved ones as part of our extended care team. They can help with transport, listen and provide emotional support, and learn about your dietary needs. We welcome family members to attend educational sessions with you so everyone feels informed and confident.
